My Testimony

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. First let me give you a few details about myself. I was born in N.Ireland and was raised in a home where both my parents were devout Christians. They were regular church attenders and sent me along to Sunday School and church each Lord's Day. From an early age I realised that as the Bible says "..all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) and that "..Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) One night in my own home I asked my father how I could be saved and he lead me to the Lord Jesus Christ. In simple faith I called upon the Name of theLord and asked Him to be my Saviour. The Bible promises that "..whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) and that "..the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7).

Nothing that I could do by myself would ever merit me favour with God or a place in Heaven when I die. As we read in Ephesians 2:8,9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast."

As I went up through my teenage years I began to stray from the traditional Christian music with which I had been so used and began to develop an interest in "Christian" Rock music. What started off to be an innocent interest soon grew into an addiction in my life. I would become defensive, even angry if someone were to as much as suggest that my music was not of God and not pleasing to Him.

However, over a period of time the Lord began to show me many things that were not glorifying to Him in the CCM scene. From that point on I turned from this music and began to expose some of these untruths which he Lord had shown me. What a freedom and joy I felt when I left the CCM junk behind and sought to serve the Lord to the best of my ability. All the praise and glory must go to Him. I then began to work with other young people in an organisation called Freedom Ministries in exposing the Rock and C-Rock scene, and also to carry out evangelism at secular Rock concerts. God has seen fit to prosper that work, and we have known much of His help and blessing in our past efforts for Him.

I have also had the privlege recently of taking up a Sunday School teaching post in my church and of taking an active role in the Youth Fellowship from time to time.

For those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, this may seem a strange way for someone to spend their time and energy. But when I think of the sacrifice Christ made on the Cross to cleanse me from my sin and make me fit to inherit eternal life when I die, then nothing I could ever do would be enough to repay the debt I owe to HIm.

Perhaps you are reading this testimony right now and realise that you do not have the assurance that one day you will be in Heaven with Christ. I would urge you to come to HIm, in repentance of your sins, and in faith turn to Him alone for Salvation.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

Come to Him today and know true peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1.
