Freedom Ministries was started in 1990 by Andrew Dobbin who at that time was living in Bushmills, N.Ireland.

He began to be concerned about the "infiltration" of pop-idiom music and other forms of entertainment into the Church, things which by their very nature tend to entertain rather than teach and edify.

At the same time he read a book called "Dancing with Demons" and felt that the message contained in it was relevant to the youth (and older people) in his Church. After contacting the author, Jeff Godwin, a series of meetings was organised throughout N.Ireland, addressing the subject of music and the controversy surrounding Rock music in the Church.

Many people of similar views attended those meetings, and caught the vision for a work such as this to continue in N.I. Freedom Ministries was therefore born. A small committee was set up to co-ordinate the work, which though small in number still continues today.

The work we are involved in could be summarised as follows;

• Teaching Presentations- on the subjects of Rock and "Christian" Rock music. These are usually held in Churches/Youth meetings at the request of the Christians there.
• Information-we seek to inform believers of what is going on in the CCM movement by producing relevant publications and through our website.
• Most importantly-in all that we do we seek to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and bring glory to Him.
